Great upgrade, minor issue with wiring

I purchased the Mid Drive Motor Kit along with a 52V Battery and the LCD Display. The ordering process on the site was smooth, and shipping took about eight days, which was reasonable. Installation was mostly good, though one of the waterproof cables was a bit tricky to snap into place, took some extra fiddling. The motor itself is powerful and has totally transformed my old road bike. I needed a quick question answered about the Pedal Assist Sensor wiring, and customer service responded to my email within a day, which was helpful. The battery life is impressive so far. Overall, a solid product for the price, just be prepared for a small bit of DIY problem-solving.

Awesome kit, fast shipping!

I ordered a Rear Hub Motor Kit and a 48V Battery, and it's fantastic! Everything arrived super quick, like five days. The conversion was easier than I thought, and my bike feels like a brand new machine. The power is amazing for hills, really makes a difference. I'm definitely going to tell all my cycling buddies about Kirbebike. I'll be back for accessories for sure!

Are the batteries from Kirbebike any good in the rain? I ride year-round and don't want to mess up my new battery if I get caught in a downpour.

T Todd Romero 2 months ago

I've ridden mine in light rain without issues. They say they're waterproof, and mine has held up fine so far.

C Colin Foster 2 months ago

They're generally sealed pretty well. I wouldn't go submerging it, obviously, but a typical rain shower shouldn't be a problem. They're designed for e-bikes, which means they expect some exposure.

Anyone know if Kirbebike accepts more than one discount code? I have a first-time buyer code and also saw one for a specific battery I want.

J Josh R. 2 months ago

Nah, usually it's one code per order. Most sites are like that, you gotta pick the best one.

C Colin Z. 2 months ago

Nope, they only let you use one discount code. I tried stacking once with a kit discount and a battery code, but it only took the first one I entered. Best to apply the one that gives you the biggest savings.

Hey, I'm thinking about getting a kit for my old mountain bike. How hard is it to actually install one of these Kirbebike kits? Is it a super technical job or pretty straightforward?

L Lisa Silva 3 months ago

It's not too bad, honestly. I'm not a super handy person and I got my rear hub kit on in a few hours. The instructions were decent, and there are tons of YouTube videos if you get stuck.

L Laura Brooks 3 months ago

Depends on your comfort level with tools. If you've ever changed a tire or done basic bike maintenance, you'll be fine. They list the tools you'll need on their site, mostly pretty standard stuff.

Does Kirbebike do free shipping often? I'm looking at a whole kit and it's a decent chunk of change, hoping to save a bit on shipping costs.

F Faith Foster 3 months ago

Yeah, I've seen them offer free shipping sometimes. Especially around big sales like Black Friday or during their spring promotions. Keep an eye out for that.

N Nina 3 months ago

They do sometimes, but not always. Check the banner at the top of their site or their social media. Sometimes it's for orders over a certain amount too.
